Public Speaking
Most of the research for my various projects is conducted independently and remotely, so I relish the opportunity to gather in person with others to discuss big ideas. In recent years, I have been invited to speak at college campuses and conferences in the U.S. and Italy on topics related to food systems and Italian culture.
Through Dartmouth College’s study program in Rome, I served as a guest lecturer on the cultural, political, and environmental issues of cultivating rice in Italy. At their New England campus, I lectured on global cultures & olive oil.
In southern Italy, I gave a presentation in Italian at a conference centered entirely on a rare variety of olive tree.
